SOUTHMAN GLEANERS was established after a group of men were encouraged to set up a food drying facility in Southern MB. With an abundance of vegetables being grown here, many potatoes, onions and carrots do not meet grade requirements due to appearance issues.

This locally grown food can be salvaged and dehydrated into dried soup mixes. this ensures long shelf life and reduces the weight to enable economical shipping to different destinations of the world to feed needy and hungry people.

The purpose of Gleaners is to gather, process and dehydrate different foods, making our finished product available to Christian mission organizations for distribution. Soup mixes distributed by them to hungry needy people will enable them to work, thereby reducing poverty.

Gleaners will select Christian organizations who have people on the ground to ensure proper distribution, and are involved with spreading the Word of God.

We take our inspiration from Leviticus 23:22:

And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the Lord your God.
